“Found this little guy all alone on my walk tonight”
Was on a walk with my other cat in his stroller when we heard a kitten wailing on the top of its lungs, it was crying nonstop for almost an hour while I tried to locate where it was coming from & I found it in a patch of tall grass in an alley all by itself. I stayed for a while to see if mom would come but was unsure how long it had been out (at least an hour and a half at this point), and the temp was dropping and I knew it wouldn’t stand a chance!
I got KMR in record time before Walmart closed & I feel like a pro, I watched kitten lady and stimulated it and it peed and p**ped, and is now sleeping in a little box on a heating pad after a big meal. Taking it to the clinic in the morning to see if any of the techs will foster him as I don’t WFH and the feeding schedule doesn’t fit mine at this point in time even if I want to keep it so badly. I’m absolutely in love […] am going back to the same spot tomorrow to look for more kittens and put a live trap out to see if I can’t find mama.

Cats, at this age, are the cutest they'll ever be. Their ears are purrfectly pointy, their tails stand straight up, and everything about them is just so awwdorably small. However, they also need help to eat, go to the bathroom, and need pretty much constant care. You can't leave them alone like you would an older kitten. This is why it's always best to keep them with their mom, but in cases like this, that obviously isn't pawssible. Thank goodness that there are so many great resources out there, like The Kitten Lady, to teach you how to care for kittens like this!

Well we’ve officially made it to the first 36 hours—and the update is, I kept the kitten! I know the girls at my vet clinic very well & they and I are organizing our schedules along with my mom and grandma so that essentially while I’m gone (I work upwards of 50 hours a week so they can be pretty long stretches), the kitten is always with someone. I got the kitten an enclosure, a heated heart beat toy, a scale, and a stockpile of bottle and feeding syringes. So far, so good! The only thing that I am worried about it, is that it has only p**ped once so far when I first got it! But I’m keeping an eye on that & learning a lot. I really hope I can give it what it needs.
A lot of you were intrigued by the big buy who helped me triangulate the sound by basically scolding it to get home via his stroller: I included pics of Floki, my 11 year old, who absolutely adores his walks. We take anywhere from 1.5-2.5 hour walks daily, sometimes split, sometimes straight through. It’s our ritual and one that doesn’t end up until our first freeze warning, so he gets to see and experience 99% of seasons! lol if he doesn’t go for walks for prolonged stretches when the weather is nice he does get cranky
And finally, in February after mourning Floki’s senior pal and the love of my life that passed away, we adopted Baby, who came from a hoarding/neglect situation. The two have a love/hate relationship and bicker like siblings would, and I’m hopeful and excited that this new little guy can thrive under my care and grow big and strong and join our crew.
Thanks for following!! I will post updates as it grows!

After this post, we're definitely going to go buy a stroller to take our cats on walks with us. Why not? Even if people think it's weird, who cares what they think? We only care about our cats' opinions of us, and they already love us more than anyone we know.
